Rectification on Data in PAJ Weekly Report and our Apologies

We, Petroleum Association of Japan (PAJ), would like to express our thanks for your usage of our Weekly Report.

We have been keen to enhance the quality of our services, paying careful attention to ensuring the accuracy of data in PAJ Weekly Report.
However, we have to hereby announce that we have found some errors in the quantity of stock of petroleum products, under the circumstances where the stock showed an extraordinarily volatile movement in connection with the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
We would like to express our deep apologies to the errors and provide rectification on the past data.

In response to the incident, PAJ requests every reporting company to ensure accurate data to be reported, while also making best efforts to further refine the accuracy, including future improvement of checking system of PAJ weekly Report.

We would like to ask all parties involved as well as users of our Report for their kind understanding and continued support to us.

About our Weekly Stats.

Dear subscribers,

Thank you for subscribing PAJ weekly statistics.

The number of companies that are not able to grasp data has been decreased after we resume disclosing weekly data.

In our weekly statistics, we estimate with our statistical models "All Japan" ,"East Japan" and "West Japan" figures from actual figures that companies bring us, which the change of the number of companies that bring actual data to us does not effect on our publishing figures directly.

Please make sure to take it into consideration when you use our weekly statistics.

About today's update

Thank you for subscribing PAJ weekly statistics.
We have called off disclosing data for 3 weeks because some companies cannot grasp data because of damage caused by earthquake.
Even though some are still not able to grasp data, we have decided to resume disclosing data.
As we wrote above, some companies lack data to 5th Apr, which means there is no continuity between
data to 4th Apr and data to 5th Mar.
Please make sure to take it into consideration when you use our weekly statistics.

Stop publishing Gasoline imports.

Since last summer, our collecting data of gasoline imports have had some differential from METI reference data.And this differential have not become small.

So we will not be able to keep the accuracy of gasoline imports data, we cannot help will stop the issue Gasoline imports from 9 June.
